Being Born Again Is A Tough Job — Lord Kenya

It seems like yesterday but it’s been five years since rap heavyweight champion, Lord Kenya, became born again and though he lives a very fulfilled life now, he admits that it hasn’t been easy.

In an interview with Showbiz last Tuesday, Evangelist Lord Kenya admitted that the journey has not been easy but it has been worth it and he has no regrets whatsoever, ‘’ God in His wisdom knows why He brought me into the Kingdom and He has been very faithful to me,’’ he said.

Touching on some of the challenges he has gone through during this period, Lord Kenya said that when he was in the world, he was doing concerts and it was bringing in a lot of money.

“ When I do a concert, I know how much I can get, when I preach, I don’t charge, how do I take care of the family but I know the one who called me is faithful, He always makes a way.”

When asked whether there were certain things he used to do in the past that he misses now, Lord Kenya replied in an emphatic “no adding that it is only when one does not understand those things that he will miss them, “I am very fulfilled because the one who called me is faithful and He makes a way when there seems to be no way.”

This reporter asked Lord Kenya if he was a happy person and this is what he had to say, “I am a very joyous person, happiness is based on circumstances. I have Jesus, the one who will be there forever so I am a very joyous person.”

Reacting to Ofori Amponsah’s return to secular music, Lord Kenya said “it is so sad. We both know where we are coming from, for him to leave this grace and go back is something else. The righteous man can fall seven times but God can let him stand. On the other hand, if any of the souls he(Ofori Amponsah) saved get lost, he will be accountable for those souls,” he said.

Lord Kenya used the opportunity to outline the programme for his fifth anniversary celebration. Since he had the encounter with God on October 28 five years ago, there will be a prophetic revival from Wednesday, October 28, to Friday October 30, at the Face of Grace Covenant Temple near Melcom, Ahodwo in Kumasi. There will also be Stars and Fans Fellowship on October 31, the climax will be a Thanksgiving Service on November 1.

According to Lord Kenya, artistes like Uncle Ato, Brother Sammy, Anita Afriyie, Agnes Opoku Agyemang, Prophet Seth Frimpong, Agape Incoporated, Mercy Asiedu, Pastor Joe Beecham and a host of others will all be passing through.

To his fans, he said, “I love you all, above that, know that Christ loves you unconditionally.

South Africa’s Covenant Voices becomes an International Multi Award Winning Group

Covenant Voices have now become an International multi award-winning group
after they won their second gong within 16 weeks of releasing their debut
single and music video – CHILDREN MEDLEY. They won the Akademia Music Award
for Best Contemporary Christian Music Video for ‘Children’ in the November
2015 Akademia Music Awards, adding to their previous success 3 months ago
when they won, ‘Best Gospel Song’ at the August 2015 edition of Akademia
awards in Los Angeles, United States of America.
An 80 band South African mass gospel choir with a handful of Africans,
Covenant Voices are mentored by Rev. Tim Omotoso, the senior Pastor of
Jesus Dominion International (J.D.I.) and founder of Tim Omotoso Global
Outreach (T.O.G.O.). They are based in Durban, South Africa, and their
music has Traditional Zulu, Jazz, R&B and Contemporary influences. Their
ages range between 16 and 39.
Covenant Voices dropped their debut single in July, 2015 and their debut
music video a month afterwards. This blockbuster video was produced by Ray
Magagula at 3 separate locations in South Africa – The Phezulu Safari Park
Hillcrest; uMhlanga Lighthouse, and uMhlanga Pier in Durban. The song
(available for download on all good online stores) which is in a mixture of
Zulu (South African language) and English illustrates how Children are
singing, how Parents are praising and worshiping God till they come to
joyful tears, making everyone happy. The song explains to all that Jesus
died for our sins, and took us out of darkness. It also praises Jesus as
the King of Heavens, and encourages every nation to arise and be ready
because Jesus is coming back soon.
The choir was founded and named in 2007 by Rev. Tim Omotoso, after he
hosted gospel music auditions, a first for the organization in Durban. This
became the first initiative of the Youth Empowerment Project (Y.E.P.) of
Tim Omotoso Global Outreach. It has to be said that the singers had no
previous training or experience when the choir was formed, just raw talent
polished with ‘the Triple T’ of Rev. Tim Omotoso.

Marriage Survival Guide for Tough Times by Dr Phils and Bishop T.D.

Two couples say their marriages are collapsing along with the economy. Karen and her husband, Walter, are coping with mounting debt and rising tempers. Sherida says she's tired of being the sole provider in her household while her husband, Brandon, depends on his faith to see them through.Along with Bishop T.D. Jake's, Dr. Phil outlines a strategy to help these couples and you navigate difficult times.

1) Acknowledge and work the problem.
When the heat is on, don't take your anger out on your spouse. "You get in trouble, you get pressure on you, and what you do is called reflexive biting. You start snapping at the person around you, and you begin to feel isolated and alone," Dr. Phil says. "You've got to turn to your partner and say, 'Look, we're in a bad spot here, and we're going to deal with this together.'"
2) Identify the stressors in your relationship.
As the nation experiences an economic downturn, remember the problem is not your partner, but high interest rates, accumulating debt and looming unemployment. "Aim your guns in the right place," Dr. Phil advises. Once you have identified the issues, work together to find viable solutions.
3) Acknowledge fear.
"It hurts you to think that he was hurting inside, but he is," he says, referring to her husband, Her spouse admits that he feels like less of a man if he can't provide for and protect his family. Dr. Phil urges him to vent his fears and be vulnerable with his spouse. Bishop Jakes suggests that Walter empower himself by allowing his wife to see his good and bad days.
4) Have emotional integrity.
Effective communication begins with honesty. "If you say you're going to look for a job in earnest, then look for a job," Dr. Phil stresses. "Don't say it if you don't mean it." Be open to receiving input from your partner even at the expense of your ego.
5) Be willing to ask for help.
"Think about yourself as being at the bottom of a steep hill, and you're trying to pull a wagon up to the top of the hill. If you're both pulling it up the hill, you're going to get there. If one of you is pulling left and one of you is puling right, you're expending a lot of energy, and the wagon's not moving at all," Dr. Phil tells both couples on this show. Don't be afraid to admit that you can't manage the household debt alone, or that you're getting in over your head with credit cards.
6) List priorities, values and goals.  "For you, it's not all about money. That's OK. Talk about that. List those things. Make a plan." Find a way that the values of both partners can be honored. "It's like two corporations merging, and you need to have a board meeting," Bishop Jakes adds.
7) Have an action plan.
Dreams can motivate you to strive for the stars, but sometimes, you have to get your head out of the clouds. "The difference between a dream and a plan is a timeline," Dr. Phil says. "You've got to do checkups on yourself and see, 'Am I moving forward?'" Devise a realistic schedule that you and your spouse can get excited about.

Tina Campbell Says She Won’t Compromise Christianity in New Season of ‘Mary Mary’

The world witnessed the unraveling of Tina Campbell’s sanity when her father died and her husband admitted to multiple infidelities on the WE tv hit reality television show “Mary Mary.” Now that filming has begun for season five, the gospel singer and author refuses to compromise her faith by representing drama.
“I’m contractually committed, yet I want to reflect my God even with these executives and behind the scenes people,” Campbell told JET magazine. “I’m not compromising my faith by no stretch of the imagination.”
The 41-year-old mother of five built a career as one half of the gospel music duo Mary Mary along with her sister Erica Campbell, who also serves as her reality television co-star. While Tina is the more outspoken of the sisters, she admits that this season is harder for her to film because of her decision to release negativity in her life.
The singer was previously very candid about the state of depression she was in and shared it with people during her live presentation of her new projects called “An Evening With Tina Campbell” that turned into a tour.
“I’ve been saved all my life and a representative of the Gospel could get so low that I wanted to die, kill my children, kill my husband and kill everybody, and go out with a bang, because life was that bad. But that’s exactly where I was in 2013, and God alone saved my life,” she said in a video preview posted on the Yahoo! Music Instagram page.
Campbell has been open about sharing her testimony in order to help encourage others.
“Part of my testimony, my willingness to speak about the difficult times, comes from the joy I have in the knowledge that it was God who saved me,” she previously wrote on the Yahoo! Music Instagram page. “I want to let those feeling as low as I once did know that if He brought me through, He will bring you through! #OnlyJesusDidIt”
Although Tina did not initially intend to create a solo album or book, she previously spoke to The Christian Post about her reason for doing so.
“I went through my challenges that I went through last year with infidelity. In the process of writing journals to God, I ended up writing a book that I didn’t know I was writing,” she previously told CP. “Once I finished, God started downloading all of this music into me and I knew that God gave it to me to give it away.”
